Working as a nurse has taught Julia to adapt to many different situations, especially where her heart is concerned. Stuffing down her emotions and not getting too attached is all a part of the job…but sometimes it just can’t be helped when a child is involved. Too many times the younger ones remind her of her sister, but that’s in the past, if she could just leave it there. After working through some issues after her break-up with a doctor, the last thing Julia is looking for is a new romantic interest. But through a series of unfortunate events, Julia finds herself on the run with a handsome (and caring) law enforcement gentleman.

Derek has a lot of family issues to work through, and is unsure what his future holds. If his dad has anything to say about it, he’ll leave the force and work in the family business. But being a cop is all Derek has ever wanted, and he’s not sure he’s ready to give that up. Besides…he’s good at what he does, and the Lord has led him in each and every situation. Keeping Julia alive may just be the toughest assignment yet, and not one he is ready to bail on. He’ll work through the family problems in his time, with the Lord’s leading, but for now, he has a job to do.

A Rescued Love is book 3 in the Come To My Rescue series by Natalie Replogle. I have to admit, with this being the first series by Replogle, I wasn’t sure what to expect. I’m always a little reluctant to try a Christian Fiction newcomer, but then again, at one time or another, everyone was a newcomer. But I have to admit, I was pleasantly surprised this time! Replogle has admitted to being a long time reader, and isn’t that what makes an author great? Stop and think about it for a minute…if you want to be a great chef, you need to enjoy food, know what you like and what you don’t like. The same can be said with writing…writing what you know and enjoy will help you create works of art that others will enjoy as well!

And speaking of enjoyment, don’t get me started on the cover! I would love to get lost in the cabin that is pictured on the front! I’ve always said I most definitely judge a book by its cover, and this one gets an A+ from me!

Replogle writes like a seasoned veteran, something that’s a rare find in today’s day and age.

Throughout the book, the author’s words flow so effortlessly across the pages, they quickly draw the reader in with the promise of a quick read. There is no stumbling or bumbling throughout the novel, something you often find with a rookie writer. In fact, Replogle writes like a seasoned veteran, something that’s a rare find in today’s day and age.

Another key component to any great book is research, and yet again, Replogle gets it right!

Another key component to any great book is research, and yet again, Replogle gets it right! Partly due to the fact that she “writes what she knows”, any author can attest that if they don’t get it right the first time, their readers will let them know! Careful research is always very important, but especially when you are dealing with anything that’s related to the medical or law enforcement fields. One wrong or incorrect step can make a huge impact on the book, and thus, the author’s writing.

The storyline is supreme, knitting together characters from different worlds and walks of life all for the common good of their “community”.

While I’ve enjoyed each book so far in the series, I think A Rescued Love is my favorite one yet (although I’ve said that about each book along the way, lol)! The storyline is supreme, knitting together characters from different worlds and walks of life all for the common good of their “community”. The characters are wonderfully developed and drawn together in a way that promotes intimate knowledge of their backgrounds and history. Not one to shy away from tough subjects, Replogle tackles different topics that work well together, blending nicely to form one great story. Life threatening diseases, murder, romance, affluent lifestyles, and common careers? This book has it all and will resonate with all types of people!

If you’re looking for a new author to read, you’ll want to make sure to check out this up and coming, small town gal, who writes love stories amongst the business of her everyday life. Her books are flying off our library shelves in spite of having 3 copies of each book, which shouldn’t be surprising, after all…Christian Fiction readers know what they like and they love to spread the word to their friends!
