Do you love to read? Once you’ve finished a book, are you eager to share the details of it with your friends—what you liked, what you didn’t, what you hope to see next time? Then you might be perfect for Straight off the Page!
We’re looking for writers to join our team and help us review even more books than we have before! If you’re not sure if you’re the right fit, here’s what we’d like to see:
Writers must be able to write reviews that are at least 400 words in length. We’re happy if reviews are longer than this, but we want reviews that really get to the heart of our feelings about a book, and we believe that shorter reviews don’t always cut it. You must be able to explain why you did or didn’t like a book. We don’t want a regurgitation of the back cover blurb. Can you talk about the plot, the characters, the setting, and the style of writing, and tell us what worked for you and what didn’t? It’s okay to say that you didn’t like a book, but we want to know why! Here are some of our recent reviews. Some are longer than others, and everyone has a different style of writing. We love variety!
If you think you can write this sort of review, please email us at firstname.lastname@example.org and include your answers the following questions:
- Where can we find your reviews? (Please include link to your blog, Amazon or GoodReads profile, or similar).
- What genres do you like to review?
- Are you interested in reviewing General Market fiction as well as Christian Fiction?
- How many reviews can you provide each month?
- Are you interested in conducting interviews or writing articles?
